ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!

DeleteA good work my friend. Thank you

ReplyDeleteIndubitably

DeleteI don't have a proper words to thank you.

ReplyDeleteGlad this post was of help!

DeleteI'm from Turkey and I'm an MSc student :)) we're using this book for ADVANCED QUANTUM MECHANICS and the solutions are very useful for me.. thanks a lot :)

ReplyDeleteGreat. Turkey, I went to Istanbul once!

Deletegood ! I live in Istanbul :)

DeleteNicolas, You are my Savior! Thank you! It's my first time studying quantum.(I took mathmphysics and thermo) Is shankar too difficult for beginner?

ReplyDeletePersonally I think Griffiths is the clearest writer, and the best quantum book to start with. After that I think reading Shankar will help fill in some of the formalism that Griffiths leaves out; Griffiths really boils down the concepts, sometimes too much, so reading Shankar can give a different, clarifying perspective.

Delete:) Thanks for your kind reply. Actually, I didn't take classical mechanics course, yet. Is it okay to jump into Griffiths? If not, is reading ch2 of shankar(C.M review) enough?

DeleteTry it, if you can catch Griffith's flow, ride it, otherwise instead of floundering you should try some other wave of concepts you CAN catch.

DeleteThank you for the advice. Good luck with your study at Ohio :)

DeleteI agree with Nicolas. I did Griffiths first and am doing Shankar now. Shankar is a whole lot more meaningful if you have done Griffiths first.

Deletei think Zettili is easiest to understand than Griffiths (although Griffiths is a great book) plus it has a lot of examples and solved exercises

DeleteTHIS IS GREAT! Thanks a lot! I study QM in Germany now and it´s 3rd time in my life when I try to dive in it :) concepts of QM seems to be just a bit..strange to me..hope Shankar will work!

ReplyDeleteThanks again, good luck!

Good luck to me? Good luck to you!

DeleteI'm retired and always wanted to learn QM; sites like this make that possible. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteAwesome, yeah doing QM problems is the new Mahjong

DeleteOMG thank you! This is gold :3

ReplyDeletebtwm im currently studying Physics (quantum atm ) at UCSB :P

DeleteRad, I'm from SB

DeleteGod I love you!

ReplyDeleteThis website is a life saver to me :)

Well, the love is mutual my anonymous friend.

DeleteCurrently the solution to 12.6.2 is mismatched. Try http://archives.evergreen.edu/webpages/curricular/2006-2007/physys/0607/solns/spring/QM12b.pdf instead, it has 6.1 and 6.2 for chapter 12

ReplyDeleteOkay, it should be fixed now. Thanks for the link.

DeleteTHANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteyou f*** saved me

** !!!!!! **

DeleteThanks a lot ... for saving my life

ReplyDeleteStrong words for this webpage with links; I guess it goes to show the power of the internet

DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.

ReplyDeleteHi, I cannot access the links..

ReplyDeleteme neither :(

ReplyDeletewhen they will be back online?

pls let them be back online, they are great :D

I have all the PDFs in my Dropbox account, and they just sent me an email. It turns out that they don't allow more than 20GBs/day to be downloaded, otherwise they suspend the account.

Delete--------

Hi Nicolas,

This email is an automated notification from Dropbox that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic. Your Dropbox will continue to function normally with the exception of Public links. This suspension is temporary (3 days for the first time). Please visit Dropbox support if you have any questions.

- The Dropbox Team

--------

So, they should be back up in 2 days, and in the meantime I'll probably switch to Google Drive (although it'll be a hassle)

thx man :)

DeleteMuito obrigada! Salvou minha graduação. É coisa de Deus. Minha amiga Lilik encontrou esse blog.

ReplyDeleteCara, você é um anjo!

Isso é ótimo que as soluções ajudar, em qualquer canto do mundo você está vivendo ... Brasil eu estou supondo.

DeleteI noticed you were missing 16.2.8

ReplyDeleteI found a solution from another site listed below.

http://scipp.ucsc.edu/~aguirre/ph216/Physics_216/Physics_216_files/solset1.pdf

Okay, I updated the page, thanks!

DeleteCan I download all of this solutions for one click?

ReplyDeleteGreat, I updated the page. Thanks!

DeleteHas anyone tried 12.3.4 ???

ReplyDeleteBTW I think that the question is wrong.

Just wanted to confirm if I am on the same page as everyone else.

Tried solving it again and found out that the question is correct. :P

DeleteI still don't know how to do this

DeleteI once made a greeting card with LEDs for my girlfriend and she dumped me because she found me a bit too nerdy :-(

ReplyDeleteI decided to move on and since then I have been in a steady relationship with Quantum Mechanics.

They say all is well that ends well.

With Love,

Router.

there is no answer for 5.4.1

ReplyDeleteAnyone has it? please update it

Has anyone tried 14.3.6 and 14.4.6? I have been struggling.

ReplyDeletePlease share if you find a solution for 14.4.6; there's a solution up for 14.3.6

DeleteThere is no solution for 18.5.2

ReplyDeleteAnybody done 18.3.2?

ReplyDeleteNope, but if you have a solution please share!

DeleteThanks man！

ReplyDeletewow this is great ! Motivates me to work the problems now (haha hopefully easier then Sakurai's book )

ReplyDeleteThanks! And here is the solution to 14.3.6: http://www.scribd.com/doc/55864334/shankar-14-3-6

ReplyDeleteThank you, I updated the page.

DeleteMany thanks, I vote for you to be nominated as Nobel prize...

ReplyDeleteyou r genius...great work..many many thanks....

ReplyDeleteTHANKS!!! I'm attending my basic QM course in Rome with this book, well done for the solutions!

ReplyDeleteHo studiato la meccanica quantistica a Padova.

ReplyDeletehttp://hep.uchicago.edu/~merritt/Ph235-08/HW/HW1_Sol.pdf

Sorry for taking a while, but I posted the solutions, thanks!

DeleteYour site has been immensely helpful to me. I would now like to give back. I notice that you have no solutions for problem 17.2.5, which is one of the problems Shankar designated as "hard." I recently had to solve this problem for my graduate QM course, and would be happy to share my solution with you and all who venture here. Should this interest you, please email me at gaugeinvariance@openmailbox.org and I will happily send you a scanned pdf of the solution.

ReplyDeleteP-p-p-posted!

DeleteGreat work ......... pretty useful for deep understanding, thanks

ReplyDeleteThese solutions really helped me... thank a lot dude!

Here I made a .rar including every single .pdf from this page at the time of this post, and the corresponding "index" (this page .html). The free host I used will probably remove it after a time, so it would be better if you could upload it to that dropbox account. Thanks.

By the way, it is 178 mb.

DeleteCould you please upload it again?

Deletethere is a problem with this dropbox account for a while.

we cannot access to it at the moment ;(

DeleteAwesome, thank you

ReplyDeleteGreat job. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteFantastic! This is 10.1.3(www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~jay/827/sol99.pdf) which couldn't be found in your list.

ReplyDeleteI've just finished the QM courses of one and a half year in my undergraduate course, and this site has been immensely helpful. I don't know how to express my appreciation on your work.. I love you dude! Hopefully everything's going well in your future career! :D

ReplyDeleteAnyone has 14.3.7?

ReplyDeleteI cant see the dropbox links

I can't open all the links. I was shown with this "This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!" when i open the link. When will this be fixed? Is anybody having the same problem?

ReplyDeletesame problem here;(

DeleteI'm having the same problem too

Deletesame problem!

DeleteHello, here you have the reuploaded .rar that includes every solution linked here until today (but not the book itself):

Deletehttp://www.filedropper.com/shankarsol1

It would be better if someone could host this file permanently. Filedropper will remove it again eventually.

Oh I forgot again, it's 179 mb.

DeleteThank you so much.

DeleteReupload shankarsol1.rar please!

DeleteDownload .torrent here:

Deletehttp://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=73596367355836884555

So I decided to create a .torrent including the files, please download and seed to keep it alive.

ReplyDeleteDownload .torrent here:

http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=73596367355836884555

The seed seems dead. Can you alive it ? Thank you

DeleteTrackers are dead it seems. I could give you my ip:port so you can add me as a peer directly. Once a few people have it I think it will be easy for new people to find seeds. Do you have an email address?

DeleteI found some peers though, but they are only downloading a few files instead of the whole thing, they won't work as good seeds.

DeleteHas anyone had any luck getting these solutions?

ReplyDeleteHi, i think the links are having some kind of problem. It says something about the dropbox account being disabled. Can anyone help me??

ReplyDeleteboth torrent and download link are died. please reupload~!

ReplyDeletetorrent is not dead, you have to be patient.

DeleteThere are at least 13 seeds at one time or another.

Hey everyone, all the files are back online again.

ReplyDeleteAfter painfully slow email correspondence with DropBox, it turns out their algorithms thought that some of the large PDFs were malware. Sounds like they need to improve their algorithm.

Hey Nicolas,

ReplyDeleteI think there is a small mistake in the solution for 1.8.12.

How could I send you my alternative solution?

Mama，come here to see the GOD

ReplyDeleteDid anyone get the answer to 5.4.1? I am getting the right factor but some other crazy terms along with it as well...

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the solutions. But could you please include the solutions for the 21st chapter, i.e. Path Integral: Part II? It would be great. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteNice blog. Rajmin academy provides you to all types of midbrain activation course such as quantum reading course, speed reading course and many more at very reasonable prices. If anyone interested then you can contact us at anytime.

ReplyDeleteNice blog and your all presenting information are very great and it's really good well done.

ReplyDeleteAuthor of PolyWorld

This blog is great. Please upload solutions of zettili's quantum mechanics,do any one have it let me know or send it to me 72arindam@gmail.com I have pathria's solution,Sakurai's solution and many more email me to have one.

ReplyDeleteHi

ReplyDeleteThanks for this amazing work. I just started reading this amazing book, and having these solutions alongside helps me to verify mine own.

I find your solution to exercise 1.1.4 to be wrong. The answer is that they are linearly independent.

If you solve the three variable simultaneously linear equations you obtained, the answer you get is a1=a2=a3=0. There is no other solution. Your statement that, "a1, a2 and a3 don't have to be 0 together' is wrong. They have to be.

DeletePlease explain in case I am wrong.
